INTERNAL VERIFIER V1

INTRODUCTION

There is an increasing need within all industry to assure the competence of staff, especially those who work in a safety critical environment. To demonstrate compliance with these requirements, both contractual and legal, the assessment process must form part of a Competence Management System. This system will require management and quality assurance of the assessment process by the Internal Verifier.

COURSE AIMS

The course is intended to provide candidates with the necessary skills and knowledge they need to conduct quality assurance of the assessment process to meet the requirements of the national standards.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course the delegates will be able to: -
• Carry out and evaluate internal assessment and quality assurance systems
• Support assessors
• Monitor the quality of assessors’ performance
• Meet external quality assurance requirements

COURSE DURATION

2 days followed by a one day assessment in the delegates workplace. This will include observation of assessor monitoring and support supported by portfolio evidence of quality assurance. A professional discussion will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the process. Delegates will be required to submit evidence of quality assurance prior to the workplace assessment. Telephone support will be available to all delegates.

PRE-REQUISITES

Delegates must be qualified to A1 and have experience of conducting assessments in the previous 12 months. This course involves a high degree of documentation review and candidates should be familiar with their own company procedures on Competence Management and Quality Assurance.

DELEGATES

Delegates are required to provide evidence from internal verification and quality assurance in the workplace following the course.

CERTIFICATION

Delegates will work towards Unit V1 of the Employment NTO Learning and Development standard. This will be awarded by City and Guilds.
