Course Aims

This course is intended to provide a delegate with the underpinning knowledge and understanding of the Construction (design and management) Regulations and their implementation in practice.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course the delegates will: -

·         Be aware of the background of the CDM Regulations

·         Have a clear understanding of the definitions contained within the Regulations

·         Have a clear understanding of the role (within the context of the CDM Regulations) of the following;   

Agents

Clients

Contractors

Designers

Domestic Clients

Developers

Planning supervisors

Principle Contractors

·         Be aware of the requirements of the Regulations to inform the HSE of construction works under certain conditions

·         Be aware of the process of creating the Health & Safety File

·         Have an understanding of the requirement of the regulations to create and maintain a Health & Safety Plan

Course Duration

One day.

Pre-requisites

There are no particular educational or competence pre-requisites for the course. However, the following factors will benefit the delegate: -

·         Sound numeric and literacy skills

Personal Protective Equipment

This course is, unless otherwise specified by the client, classroom based and as such no PPE will be required.

Certification

A Certificate of Training will be awarded to the delegate on completion of the course.
