Noise at Work

Course Aims

This course is intended to provide a delegate with the necessary knowledge in order to assess, measure and interpret occupational noise. The course includes a practical session where delegates will be assessed on their ability to interpret the noise readings of the monitoring equipment.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course the delegates will: -

·         Be aware of the Noise at Work Regulations

·         Have an  understanding of noise terminology

·         Have an understanding the behaviour of sound

·         Be aware of instrument specifications, the correct use of sound level meters and calibration and accuracy.

Course Duration

One day - this can be held at the client’s workplace  if desired.

Pre-requisites

There are no particular educational or competence pre-requisites for the course.

Personal Protective Equipment

This course has both classroom and practical elements. No PPE will be required for the classroom element.  PPE is not required for the practical element unless the client requires specific practical assessment at the delegates work place.

The protective equipment must comply with current safety standards.

Certification

A Certificate of Training will be awarded to the delegate on completion of the course.
