<p>This course is intended to provide a delegate with the knowledge to implement risk assessments in accordance with the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.</p>
<h3>Learning Objectives</h3>
<p>At the end of this course the delegates will: -</p>
<li>Be able to identify differing types of risk assessment</li>
<li>Understand the definitions of;<br />
- Risk<br />
- Hazard<br />
- Danger<br />
- Suitable and Sufficient<br />
As they relate to risk assessment</li>
<li>Have a clear understanding of Hazard Evaluation techniques</li>
<li>Be able to describe and use the control measures hierarchy</li>
<li>Be aware of the relevant Risk Assessment Regulations</li>
<li>Have an understanding of the role risk assessment plays in management of Health and Safety</li>
<li>Have the ability to identify and record the significant findings of a risk assessment</li>
<li>Have the ability to review and audit risk assessments</li>
<h3>Course Duration</h3>
<p>One day.</p>
<h3>Pre-requisites</h3>
<p>There are no particular educational or competence pre-requisites for the course. However, the following factors will benefit the delegate: -</p>
<li>Sound numeric and literacy skills</li>
<h3>Personal Protective Equipment</h3>
<p>This course requires the delegate to be on or near the running line, therefore, he/she MUST be in possession of: -</p>
<li>Valid P. T. S. Certificate</li>
<li>Protective Clothing – high visibility</li>
<li>Safety Footwear</li>
<p>The protective equipment must comply with current safety standards.</p>
<h3>Certificate</h3>
<p>A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to the delegate on completion of the course.</p>
