Course Aims

The course is intended to provide the delegate with the skills and understanding of the use of Asset Management Plans (AMP).  The course is suitable for Senior Technicians, Supervisors, Maintenance and Renewals Managers, Project Managers and Site Supervisors.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the course the delegates will:

  • Have an appreciation of the interface requirements between the Renewals and Maintenance teams during a major track renewal or project.
  • Be aware of the importance of managing the information flow between the renewals team (RT) and maintenance team (MT)
  • Be aware of the Network Rail standards and requirements in management of the work
  • Be aware of the documents required to be transmitted between the Renewal and Maintenance Teams
  • Be aware of the timescales these documents must be sent/received by
  • Be aware of the person(s) who is(are) responsible for signing the document
  • Be aware of the process for handing back the works
  • Be aware of the relevant adjudication procedure

    Pre-requisites

    There are no particular educational or competence pre-requisites for the course.  However, the following factors will benefit the delegate.

  • Sound understanding of the Permanent Way and its components
  • Prior experience of site work
  • Personal Protective Equipment

    Is not required for the course.

    Certification

    A Certificate of Training will be awarded to the delegate upon completion of the course.
