Plain Line Grinder

Course Aims

This course provides the underpinning knowledge and practical experience on the safe and effective operation of the Plain Line Grinder.

Duration

Learning Objectives

At the end of the course the delegate will be able to:

• List the required PPE and how to adjust.
• Undertake a pre-use inspection of Plain Line Grinder equipment
• Comprehend the generic ergonomic requirements for Plain Line Grinders and individual machine fundamentals
• Confidently and safely use and control the Plain Line Grinder trolley.
• Operate and store the Plain Line Grinder.

Pre Requisite Requirements

The delegates must have knowledge and experience within Portable and Transportable Plant.

PPE Requirements

This course requires the delegate to be on or near the running line, therefore, they MUST be in possession of: -
• Valid P. T. S. Card
• Protective “all orange” High Visibility clothing to BS EN 471
• Safety Footwear to BS EN ISO 20345
• Safety Helmet (white/blue) to BS EN 397
• Ear Protection
• Safety Glasses BS EN 166 and of Optical Class 1 with Impact Resistance F
• General Purpose Gloves to BS EN388
• Overalls
The protective equipment must comply with current safety standards.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, competence will be valid for 3 years. Delegates who have not operated the equipment on 4 or more occasions over the past 12 months will need to be re-assessed as to their current competence.
