Richard Bonney
CHAIRMAN
Richard, along with Lisa Stevenson founded the company in 2002. Richard has over 30 years of experience within the training environment. His principal role is to lead the strategic development of the Company with a focus on growth both in the UK and overseas.
Martyn Bentley
SENIOR PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Martyn’s expertise in both the practical and technical application of permanent way engineering skills ensures he is fully qualified to deliver training courses from Basic Principles of Track Engineering team Leader as well as Stressing of CWR Levels 1-2-3, Raising and Removing Speed Restrictions and Track Patrolling. Martyn is qualified as an Assessor enabling him to provide the relevant assessment requirements for competence based courses.
Lisa Stevenson
MANAGING DIRECTOR
As a founder member of the Company Lisa’s principle role is to direct and control the company’s operations and support the chairman in the strategic development of the company with a focus on growth in both the UK and overseas. As an extremely experienced manager with expertise in office management and marketing, Lisa’s skills ensure the Company will continue to flourish and remain a highly successful training organisation.
Michelle Allsop
OFFICE MANAGER
Michelle joined the Company in 2013, becoming a key member of the administration team, providing support for the Company. Michelle is responsible for the organisation of all Track Safety courses. Michelle has recently been promoted to Office Manager and is responsible for ensuring the Company is proactive in compliance with client, industry and legislative requirements. Her role also involves Quality Assurance and leading on any audit visits.
Jordan Clarke
CLIENT SERVICES AND FINANCE MANAGER
Since joining the Company in 2015, Jordan has been responsible for the Permanent Way course administration, providing support to both our clients and delegates. Jordan was promoted in 2020, becoming responsible for the co-ordination and deployment of resources ensuring the needs of the business and clients are met. Jordan has recently been promoted to Client Support and Finance Manager, where he will also be responsible for the financial activity of the business.
Trevor Whitehead
Senior Permanent Way Trainer and Assessor
Trevor joined Neway Training Solutions in 2020 with over 2 decades of Permanent Way experience with a specialism in rail welding and grinding. Trevor has over a decade of training, assessment and internal quality assurance experience within the rail sector. Trevor will be responsible for the delivery and assessment of rail grinding, detailed inspection of S&C, small plant competencies along with sentinel based safety critical competencies.
Chantelle Strange
CLIENT SUPPORT COORDINATOR
Chantelle joined the company towards the end of 2020 and plays a key part in the administration team.  Providing office and administrative support for the Company, our clients, and our delegates and she ensures the highest quality service is provided at all times. Chantelle has recently been promoted to Client Support Coordinator, to ensure client relationships are maintained and a high quality service is provided to each customer.
Kevin Newton
COMMERCIAL AND TRAINING DIRECTOR
Kevin joined Neway Training Solutions in August 2022 as the Training Manager. Kevin has a wealth of training experience, both commercial training and apprenticeships, working in various sectors over the last 26 years, these include Rail Engineering, Manufacturing and Digital. Since joining, Kevin has been promoted to Commercial and Training Director, where he is responsible for supporting the technical trainers, developing Neway’s course portfolio and engaging with clients to gain and maintain business and client relationships
Rhys Stevenson
Training and Technology Coordinator
Rhys joined Neway Training Solutions in January 2023 and has quickly become an integral part of the team. He is responsible for creating innovative learning material and supporting the business with advances in technology.
Luke Woffenden
PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Luke joined Neway Training Solutions in May 2022 as a Trainee Trainer/Assessor and has since completed his training and assessor qualifications, becoming a Permanent Way Trainer and Assessor. Luke has a decade of Permanent Way Engineering experience working in core Switches and Crossing gangs and working alongside numerous machinery. Luke delivers a wide range of Permanent Way courses including Stressing of CWR and Track Handback.
Brad Woffenden
PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Brad joined our team at Neway Training Solutions in August 2022 as a Trainer and Assessor. He began his railway career shortly after leaving school, working within core gangs, with expertise lying in the Permanent Way. With over a decade in the industry, he also gained experience working with and around various on-track machines. Brad delivers a wide range of Permanent Way courses such as Stressing of CWR, Track Handback and many more.
Jamie Woffenden
ASSOCIATE PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Jamie currently delivers technical training for Neway Training Solutions covering S&C Inspections, Track Inspections, and Track Engineering courses such as Track Geometry and Track Hand back Engineer. Jamie started working on the infrastructure 16 years ago, he completed a Level 2 Track Engineering Qualification to start his career off and then progressed as a technical track operative completing a variety of roles including working with NWR in a Level 2 TRV faults department and an S&C build and installations team. Jamie became a trainee Trainer/Assessor in the apprenticeship sector delivering L2 track engineering qualifications in 2016, Jamie progressed from there and now holds his L3 Assessing and L4 Teaching qualifications. Jamie joined Neway Training Solutions in 2020 as an Associate Trainer and Assessor.
Mark Woffenden
ASSOCIATE PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Mark currently delivers technical training for Neway Training Solutions covering S&C Inspections, Track Inspections, and Track Engineering courses such as Track Geometry and Track Hand back Engineer. Mark has over 18 years of experience working on the infrastructure, undertaking many roles ranging from being a contractor undertaking renewals and maintenance to being a lead member. Mark became a Trainee Trainer and Assessor in 2014 and since then, has progressed from there and now holds L3 Assessing and L4 Teaching qualifications. Mark joined Neway Training Solutions in 2020 as an Associate Trainer and Assessor.
Matt Beatham
PERMANENT WAY AND SAFETY CRITICAL TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Matt joined Neway Training Solutions in November 2023 as a Trainer and Assessor. Matt specialises in Track Safety and Permanent Way courses. Matt is an extremely valued and experienced member of the team having been training in the sector for more than 20 years.
Dean Smith
SAFETY CRITICAL ASSOCIATE TRAINER
Dean joined Neway Training Solutions as an Associate Trainer and Assessor in May 2023. Dean specialises in Track Safety, delivering PTS & DC Conductor Rail training on behalf of Neway.
Daniel Tryner
Permanent Way Trainer and Assessor
Dan joined Neway Training Solutions in March 2023 as a Trainer/Assessor. Dan specialises in all Grinding related courses. Dan has over a decade of experience working on the railway in a variety of roles. Dan delivers a wide range of Permanent Way courses including Grinding Operative, Grinding Supervisory Manager, 053 and 1054.
Benjamin Haines
Associate Permanent Way Trainer and Assessor
Ben is a hugely experienced Senior Technical Officer with extensive experience in undertaking track quality technical roles on the rail infrastructure. Ben’s previous roles have seen him undertake various duties including that of a TME working across the majority of Wales, Western and Southern regions. Ben has been working as a Permanent Way Technical Trainer/Assessor for in excess of three years. Ben is an extremely valued member of our Training team, and we are delighted to have him onboard.
