Richard Bonney
CHAIRMAN
Richard, along with Lisa Stevenson founded the company in 2002. Richard has over 30 years of experience within the training environment. His principal role is to lead the strategic development of the Company with a focus on growth both in the UK and overseas.
Martyn Bentley
SENIOR PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Martyn’s expertise in both the practical and technical application of permanent way engineering skills ensures he is fully qualified to deliver training courses from Basic Principles of Track Engineering team Leader as well as Stressing of CWR Levels 1-2-3, Raising and Removing Speed Restrictions and Track Patrolling. Martyn is qualified as an Assessor enabling him to provide the relevant assessment requirements for competence based courses.
Lisa Stevenson
MANAGING DIRECTOR
As a founder member of the Company Lisa’s principle role is to direct and control the company’s operations and support the chairman in the strategic development of the company with a focus on growth in both the UK and overseas. As an extremely experienced manager with expertise in office management and marketing, Lisa’s skills ensure the Company will continue to flourish and remain a highly successful training organisation.
Sylvia Franklin
FINANCE AND COMPETENCE MANAGER
Sylvia joined the Company shortly after it was established in 2002.  In addition to delivering Assessor training, Sylvia is a member of the senior management team assisting the Managing Director with the Company finances.  Her many years experience within the rail industry ensures the company is proactive in compliance with client, industry and legislative requirements.  Her role involves Quality Assurance and leading on any audit visits.
Michelle Melnyk
SENIOR OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Michelle joined the company in 2013 and has become a key member of the administration team providing office support for the Company. Michelle is the Company’s Sentinel Co-ordinator responsible for the organisation of all Track Safety courses; dealing with our clients and delegates prior to, during and after the training events to ensure the level of service provided is of the highest quality.
Jordan Clarke
SALES AND OPERATIONS MANAGER
Since joining the Company in 2015, Jordan has been responsible for the Permanent Way course administration, providing support to both our clients and delegates. Jordan has recently been promoted to Sales and Operations Manager and is now responsible for the co-ordination and deployment of resources ensuring the needs of the business and clients are met on a daily basis.
Trevor Whitehead
PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Trevor has over 2 decades of Permanent Way experience with a specialism in rail welding and grinding. Trevor has over a decade of training, assessment and internal quality assurance experience within the rail sector. Trevor will be responsible for the delivery and assessment of rail grinding, detailed inspection of S&C, small plant competencies along with sentinel based safety critical competencies.
Chantelle Strange
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Chantelle joined the company towards the end of 2020 and plays a key part in the administration team.  Providing office and administrative support for the Company, our clients, and our delegates and she ensures the highest quality service is provided at all times.
Kevin Newton
TRAINING MANAGER
Kevin recently joined Neway Training Solutions as Training Manager. Kevin has a wealth of training experience both commercial training and apprenticeships. Having worked in various sectors over the last 24 years, these include Rail, Engineering, Manufacturing and Digital. Kevin is responsible for supporting the technical trainers and developing the Neway Training Solutions course portfolio.
Luke Woffenden
TRAINEE PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Luke recently joined Neway Training Solutions as our Trainee Trainer/Assessor and is on a structured development plan being mentored by our vastly experienced trainers, this will allow him to enhance his teaching skills. Luke has 6 years of Permanent Way Engineering experience working in core Switches and Crossing gangs and working alongside a wide range of machinery. Luke also has experience in Stressing CWR Levels 1-2-3.
Brad Woffenden
PERMANENT WAY TRAINER AND ASSESSOR
Brad has recently joined our team at Neway Training Solutions as a Trainer/Assessor. He began his Railway career shortly after leaving school, working within core gangs, so his expertise lies in the Permanent Way. Over his nine years in the industry, he also gained experience working with and around various on-track machines.
Jamie Woffenden
ASSOCIATE TECHNICAL TRAINER
Jamie currently delivers technical training for Neway Training Solutions covering S&C Inspections, Track Inspections, and Track Engineering courses such as Track Geometry and Track Hand back Engineer. Jamie started working on the infrastructure 12 years ago, he completed a Level 2 Track Engineering Qualification to start his career off and then progressed as a technical track operative completing a variety of roles including working with NWR in a Level 2 TRV faults department and an S&C build and installations team. Jamie also has 6 years experience of being a Controller of Site Safety (COSS). Jamie became a trainee Trainer/Assessor in the apprenticeship sector delivering L2 track engineering qualifications in 2016, Jamie progressed from there and now holds his L3 Assessing and L4 Teaching qualifications.
Mark Woffenden
ASSOCIATE TECHNICAL TRAINER
Mark currently delivers technical training for Neway training Solutions covering S&C Inspections, Track Inspections, and Track Engineering courses such as Track Geometry and Track Hand back Engineer. Mark has over 14 years of experience working on the infrastructure, he has undertaken many roles ranging from being a contractor undertaking renewals and maintenance to being a lead member working for Babcock Rail. In 2014 Mark started working as a trainee tutor/assessor working towards Level 3 Assessors and Level 4 Teaching qualifications and joined Neway Training Solutions in 2020 as an associate technical trainer.
